Old Fashioned Charm

I've had this pattern for a few years and am finally getting started on it. It's called Old Fashioned Charm by Lydia Quigley. It's 64"x74" but I want to make it king size. The smaller size calls for 50 pieced blocks and 49 5 1/2" white blocks. I have cut enough pieces to make the 50 pieced blocks and started sewing them. I like the fabric I'm using but wish I would have used alittle darker, I'm hoping they won't disappear when put together. Here's the fabric:

These are some of the pieced blocks.

I have so many more to go. This may become a lap quilt instead of a king. We will have to see.

26 blocks done and ?? more to go.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. Life has been happening. I do have a few quilts done and a few more to finish piecing. I'll post picture of some of them tomorrow. Just wanting to let you all know I was still around.

2nd Double Takes II

After doing the first one, I knew I wanted to do another - maybe for our room. I fell in love with this line of fabric at my LQS. It's Treasures by Chabby Chic. It's so summery and I was suprised my Hubby didn't mind the use of pinks and greens for our bedroom. I added more squares and borders to make it 110 x 105
I need to trim and bind it. Then I'll get a picture of the whole quilt.

Finally one for me!

After doing so many quilts for family last year I decided I needed to do one for me. My daughter gave me this top she purchased on ebay. I love doing curved crosshatching and I'm happy how it turned out.

Another painted quilt!

I really like doing these little quilts

Quilt Painting

I watched a video on QNNtv's Quilt IT! on quilt painting with Irena Bluhm. I just loved the look of her quilts, so I had to give it a try. I need to bind it. I'm so happy with how this turned out and it was so easy. My mind is just spinning with ideas.

Finished Double Takes II

I finish this a couple days ago but didn't get pictures until today. I didn't do anything fancy just a simple meander. This pattern was so quick and easy I think I'll have to do another one soon.

Ready to get back to quilting.

I've got the top together but had taken a couple days off from sewing. This pattern goes together really quick. I'm starting to like nice and easy tops. Now ready to get the top in the frame and get her quilted.

Garden Club Quilt

This is one of my favorite quilts. It's by Smith Street Designs. An embroidery applique program that is great. They're instructions and construction info is easy to follow. It was time consuming but well worth it. I have a few of their programs and would highly recommend them. I hadn't done a quilt so detailed before and was scared to quilt it myself. So I had it quilted by Charisma. She did a beautiful job.

Quilt of 2011

These are most of the quilts I made last year. I wanted to make them for family members that I knew would love them.
The first one is French Roses by Heather French.

Flea Market Quilt from Quilter's Newletter magazine.

Isabella is a free pattern from Hancocks of Paducah.

Yellow and Blue Dresdon.

Logcabin and Stars

Rustling Leaves - a BOM from Joann's

Batik Maple Leaves

Dolly Claire

Scrappy Medalion

American Beauty BOM
I pieced this quilt and Charisma did the awesome quilting.

The following are tops I bought on Ebay. I added wider borders and quilted.

These I saw pictures of and designed a pattern myself.

I saw the layout of an embroidery progam of Elepinks and designed a pattern for this one. I added appliqued flowers,

I can't find the pattern I used for this quilt but I think it's a Jacob's ladder.

My Sewing Room

I know I'm blessed with a wonderful sewing room. I love spending time in here. With all the windows, the light is great. Last summer before my Avanta arrived, I cleaned, organized, painted, and made new curtains. It was so organized I still haven't found a few things.
